It was very cool to see so many people having a good time-genuinely enjoying themselves. From the looks of the folks I ran into and had the pleasure meeting, this is a group that could have fun in a phone booth, in the arctic.

We came to Detroit for this Square Dance Convention, my wife and I. We had a real good time. We went on the people mover several times. We also walked along River Walk. This realy changed our image of Detroit. The people were very nice to us and most of the time we were dressed in Square Dance attire. I wish with all my heart that I will live long enough to see another there. There was over 4000 dancers there. Fenton Kelley CEO WMKG TV Muskegon Mi.

I've heard stories that 60 years ago, square dancing was very popular at several "barn dances" in Detroit and its suburbs, attracting up to 500 dancers on a Saturday night at some locations.

I am convinced that in marriage, the five most beautiful words in the world are not "I love you so much!" The five most beautiful words in a marriage are "I am committed to you!"

Sometimes it doesn't feel good to be married for one reason or another. But married people have the ability to make a decision everyday to stay committed and deal with the uncomfortable dilemmas of "real life." On the other side of that decision, couples learn valuable information about themselves and their spouses. Relationships go to a new and more honest level.

Of one thing I am sure; the divorce rate would drop significantly if committment, took precedence over how we, feel.
